Cara picked up the rock from Peg in Houston and carted it back to Louisiana.

She promoted the rock from her site, PapersPrintsandPixels.com, and donated part of the proceeds.

From Cara:
My 'rock' story:
When I first heard about the rock, I was struck by the idea’s simplicity. It reminded me a lot of the Amish people that I spent so much time around in college. How they band together as a group to help those in need – like barn building or paying for a doctor when medical care was needed. It was a sense of community that I haven’t seen much since then and it really touched me. It reminded me that the internet has made the whole world a community – you just have to reach out and join in. And our family has reached out to the homeschool/unschool community. It’s been a blessing having others support our efforts to live and learn as a family when many of our own family have ostracized us for doing so.
When I was approached to carry the rock, I felt blessed and honored. I know what cancer does to families. I lost my grandma when I was 8 to ovarian cancer. My other grandmother recently had a lumpectomy but has had been in the clear for a while, but it took a toll on her health and outlook on life.
At first I wasn’t sure how I would raise money or awareness, as my local community is small and not very friendly. But then I thought about all the moms that I talk to on a weekly basis, mostly other small business owners or moms who work from home. Then I looked at my own business and decided to donate a portion of the profits each month to Love Just Is. I’ve also had a moving sale, since we are moving to Austin , Texas this month and sent the proceeds too. When things got a bit rough for me, going out of my comfort zone to contact people, as I’m not a natural extrovert, I kept looking at the rock as a reminder that it’s not for me, but for someone else.
I really think that I’m getting more out of this deal than I’m giving. I’m being blessed by all the new people I’ve met, the new families we can call friends and the support we’ve been given just for being us. It’s also been a good lesson for my children. They have enjoyed telling people about the rock and Isaac’s family, even though they don’t know them. It’s been a way I can show them all the things I’ve been trying to teach them – compassion, self-discipline, awareness of the world and a connection we all share by living in the world.
I’m hoping that my small effort will bless Isaac and his family.
Thanks to Cara and her Family for carrying Isaac's Rock!
